Rebuilding Together is a national non-profit with a network of more than 200
affiliates across the United States. Our mission is to preserve affordable home
ownership by bringing volunteers and communities together to rehabilitate the
homes of low-income homeowners.
Our History
Rebuilding Together began with a small group of affiliates more than 30 years ago.
The National Headquarters opened its doors in 1988. Today, the Affiliate Network
has completed more than 100,000 homes across the nation. With the help of 2.5
million volunteers, Rebuilding Together has delivered over $1 billion in market value
since its founding.
For the fifth consecutive year Rebuilding Together has received a
4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent
evaluator of charities. To learn more, please click on the Charity

National Initiatives
National Rebuilding Day is our signature annual event. This event occurs in April and is the culmination of a year of planning, evaluating, training, organizing, and mobilizing hundreds of thousands of community volunteers.
Rebuilding Together’s Safe at Home program makes the modifications and accessibility improvements that enable low- income elderly homeowners to avoid nursing home placement and age comfortably and safely in their own homes.
In 2005, Rebuilding Together’s Gulf Coast Operations Initiative to Rebuild 1000 was launched in response to the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Gulf Coast Operations Initiative develops the capacity of our Gulf Coast affiliates, from Mississippi, Louisiana, and Southeast Texas.
Rebuilding Together’s Veterans Housing Initiative was created to meet the growing needs of veterans from past and present wars. The initiative fills gaps in home repair services for retired and active service members by increasing the home’s accessibility, enabling veterans to live independently and safely in their own homes.
